The Indo-Pak cricket series scheduled for early next year in Pakistan may be called off, as India’s External Affairs Ministry believes that security situation in the host country is “dangerous”.

The Indian mission in Islamabad is learnt to have given a report on the security situation in Pakistan, clearly outlining the “dangerous situation” in the country.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) website, too, is yet to confirm the six-week long itinerary starting January 2009. Board sources said that they will discuss the Pakistan tour in detail with MEA in December.
