Security to be provided to all witnesses in PF scam: UP police

Uttar Pradesh police said that it will provide security to all witnesses in the multi-crore PF scam of Ghaziabad.

After the mysterious death of prime accused Ashutosh Asthana in Dasna jail,Uttar Pradesh police today said it will provide security to all witnesses in the multi-crore PF scam of Ghaziabad.

“Senior Superintendent of Police Ghaziabad has requested the CBI to provide a list of witnesses in the scam. He has been directed to provide proper security to all of them,” Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) A K Jain told reporters in Lucknow.

Following the Supreme Court’s order Asthana’s viscera,which was sent to Agra FSL for test,has been recalled and is being handed over to the CBI,he said.

“The post mortem was conducted by a panel of five doctors and there was no mention of any injury in the report. Therefore,the viscera was preserved and sent to Agra FSL,” Jain said.

Asthana,a treasury officer at the Ghaziabad court,was named the prime accused in the Rs 23 crore PF scam in which the names of 36 judges of various courts,including one from the Supreme Court,had cropped up.

He was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Dasna jail on Saturday.
