Appetite for Diet Books
What do celebrities eat to look the way they do? Our hunger for an answer to this overwhelming question can never be satiated in spite of a number of self-help books that abound in this genre. On Tuesday evening, Mumbai-based nutritionist Pooja Makhija's new book Eat. Delete: How To Get Off the Weight Loss Cycle For Good (Harper-Collins India) was unveiled at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, by Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen, said to be one of Makhija's celebrity clients. The dietician, who claims that 98 per cent of her patients are women and are young, said, "The purpose of writing the book is to make readers fall in love with food again. The more one eats, the more one deletes." In the book, celebs such as Vidya Balan, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Waheeda Rehman have contributed some healthy eating tips.
Coke Studio Once Again
Coke Studio @ MTV is all set for a second run, staying true to its core idea of being a fusion music project. The second season will see independent classical, folk and popular artistes combine their creative energies to perform live. With eight episodes, 12 producers and over 200 musicians — including Mame Khan, Natalie Di Luccio, Mami Verte, La Pongal, Papon and Usha Uthup being involved — the launch of the show in Delhi on Tuesday had many of these artistes performing live. The new season will have one composer directing one episode each, while the last episode will have five new talents composing for it. Composers such as Shantanu Moitra, Amit Trivedi, Ehsaan-Loy, Nitin Sawhney, Karsh Kale, Hitesh Sonik and Clinton Cerejo have been roped in this time, as opposed to the last season where there was just one producer for all episodes. The second season of Coke Studio @ MTV premiers on July 7.
