Triple Role
Set for a September 21 release, Madhur Bhandarkar's ambitious project, Heroine, will now have three trailers. Since the film has got an 'A' certificate from the Censor Board, there will be three different trailers for the audience and the first one with an 'A' rating will only be available online. The second trailer will be for theatre and TV audiences with 'U/A' certificate and the third will be for the UK audience, which will be for those above 12 years of age. For the 'U/A' trailer, cigarette scenes will be blurred, some adult scenes will be cut and offensive words will either be beeped out or replaced. The Censor Board's explanation is that the trailers were very bold and not appropriate for TV viewing. In a bold avatar, Kareena Kapoor who is known to despise smoking, will be seen puffing and mouthing expletives.
Women in Art
Over the years, Delhi-based artist Kanchan Chander's art has repeatedly depicted the feminine form and focussed on various aspects of feminine power. Her latest solo, currently on display at Gallery Art and Soul, Worli, is titled "Bollywood/Hollywood" and comprises more than 60 works, including paintings, mixed media works and sculptures. Six mixed media works depicting some of the most famous female icons from Bollywood and Hollywood — among which are Madhubala, Waheeda Rehman, Madhuri Dixit, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor — are the highlights of the show. Besides this series, also on display are works that are a tribute of sorts to Frida Kahlo, the Mexican painter. Chander counts as her role model. "Bollywood/Hollywood" will continue at the Worli gallery till August 2
