  • China asked India and Pakistan to seek a solution to the Kashmir issue through peaceful and friendly consultations and offered to play a "constructive role" in resolving the "bilateral issue".

As a friendly country, China would also be happy to see progress in the peace process between India and Pakistan, said Hu Zhengyue, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, in charge of the Asian region.

"Kashmir is an issue that has been longstanding left from history. This issue touches the bilateral relations between the relevant countries," he told a group of visiting foreign journalists here.

As China is a friendly neighbour of both countries, it hopes to see that the two sides "will seek a solution through peaceful and friendly consultations", Hu said when asked by a Pakistani journalist if China was prepared to play some role in the resolution of the issue.

with friends like China......well.....hahahaBy: indian citizen | 22-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward The People's Republic of China would do well to follow its own advice regarding Tibet. It has repressed the Tibetans since 1959 using the military jackboot, forced migration of ethnic Han Dragons and elimination of Tibetan culture. This apart from using every trick in the book of dirty tricks to show the revered Dalai Lama, the rightful ruler of an independent Tibet in a poor light. After having gobbled up Tibet, it is looking further afield to claim Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and the eastern part of Kashmir (Aksai Chin). I say this to both Pakistan and China-if you feel some areas of India belong to you, come forward if you dare and try to take it.Let us solve this problem once and for all. You are not coming forward because you are not sure of winning. India in 2009 is not India of 1962. We will nuke your Shanghai and its dubious claims as a showpiece of 'progress'.If you could, you would have taken it long ago.Just shut up and eat your noodles with pork and dog meat.
Solve the Kashmir issue. China.By: Knock-knock! | 01-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Do we Indians, past or present, remember the Hindi-Chini Bhai-Bhai slogan of the Nehru Era! Do we also remember the Indian yarn of two cats finding a piece of bread, and not satisfied with the 50% portion for each approached a monkey to arbitrate upon. The monkey broke a piece of the bread to make both portions equal and mouthed it. He does the same next time, and the next time - until the whole bread was in his mouth! To begin with, China should butt out of Indian affairs, secondly, their sincerity can only be accepted as genuine if they promptly return portions of India they forcibly occupied during the Indo-Chinese war of the early sixties.
Unsolicited Advice.By: NP Singh | 01-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Having grabbed/encroached whole of Tibet, threatening Taiwan Militarily, attacked India in 1962 ( Occupying 45000 sq.kms still ),encroaching lands and islands of so many countries in their neibourhood China should never been giving their Unsolicited Advice to India. Please don't meddle in our internal affairs.Aren't the Communists very rude and aggressive.? Do we need more strength to confront them.???
Practice what you preach, china...By: Sudhir | 30-Sep-2009 Reply | Forward What is good for gander is good for geese
Mind your own businessBy: Mathew Abraham | 29-Sep-2009 Reply | Forward It is high time that our Indian Government tell the Communist Chinese to "mind their own business" and not to interfere in the internal matters of India. Before they go around offering their mediation service, they need to put their own house in order - Tibet, Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region, etc. In fact, we should offer our mediation service as a friendly neighbour to Tibet and China.
