A seminar on ‘Use of VOIP in Education’ was organised at DAV College, Sector 10, on Wednesday.

Voice Over Internet Protocol, or VOIP as it is popularly known, is a technology that transmits voice signals over the Internet allowing the use a single high-speed internet connection for all voice, video and data communication.

Ajay Guleria, a System Manager (DCSA) at Panjab University, imparted knowledge on the implementation of VOIP in any institution. He said: “VOIP is growing rapidly as it significantly reduces costs.” Various technical challenges in the operation and application of VOIP were also discussed.

More than 80 students participated in the seminar.
