The Shiv Sena has called the bomb planted by Hindu fundamentalists in a Thane theatre a damp squib and urged Hindus to make “better bombs” to match those made by “Islamic terrorists” and explode them in “mini-Pakistans” in India. It said that Hindus would be saved only if Hindutva organisations formed suicide squads on the lines of the ones formed by Islamic terror organisations.
An editorial in the Sena mouthpiece Saamna — it is edited by party chief Bal Thackeray — on Wednesday stated that the bomb of Hindutva activists merely injured a few people and that too, Hindus, which had brought “dishonour to Hinduism”.
It stated that “Islamic terrorism” was “flourishing” in the country and to counter it, “Hindu terrorism” of the same power should be created.
The Sena has praised Hindu organisations involved in the blast, but has pointed out that instead of making such low intensity bombs, they should have made a better “Hindu” bomb, and their names would have been added to the list of revolutionaries. It stated that the bomb in Thane ultimately injured Hindus. It urged for “better bombs” that could be exploded in “mini-Pakistans” flourishing in India.
Claiming that there are many areas dominated by Islamic fundamentalists, where even the police fear to enter, the Sena stated that Hindutva organisations should learn lessons from Islamic terror organisations like Jaish, Al Qaeda and Hizbul.
Asking Hindus to think big, it pointed out that a Marathi cashier would have lost his job for committing a fraud of Rs 40 while people like Harshad Mehta and Ketan Parekh “swindled crores”.
