Senior Congress leader and KPCC General Secretary Kodoth Govindan Nair died in the early hours of today after a brief illness,party sources said here. Nair (68) died at the Vellur Christian Medical College hospital. He is survived by two dauthers. A close associate of senior Congress leader K Karunakaran,Nair was president of Kasargod District Congress Committee for several years. Nair had joined Democratic Indira Congress,floated by Karunakaran after he quit from Congress. Later he came back to Congress along with Karunakaran. Nair was keeping indifferent health for quiet some time and was taken to Vellur on December 16.
