Seoul shares rise 0.5 pct on foreign buying

Seoul shares rose on Tuesday as technology and banking stocks rallied on positive US data.

Seoul shares rose on Tuesday as technology and banking stocks such as LG Electronics and Woori Finance rallied on stronger than expected earnings by European banks and positive US data.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) ended up 0.47 per cent at 1,790.61 points,posting a fresh near-26 month closing high.
