  • Five express trains, including Swaran Shatabdi and Shan-e-Punjab, were cancelled in the wake of an agitation by members of the Damdami Taksal and youth Sikh federations of Punjab on Tuesday. Trains to Sealdah, Dadar and Haridwar-Ganganagar and several passenger trains were also cancelled. Ambala Division senior commercial manager Karan Singh stated that the railways had made adequate arrangements for stranded passengers. He said eight refund counters had been set up while a special train from Ambala to Amritsar was made operational in the evening. He also claimed that no complaint was received from passengers.
