Shakti Kapoor pitches for BSP,says supports good people

Actor Shakti Kapoor made a pitch for BSP candidate from ward 23 Jannat Jahan asking the residents of the area to cast their vote in her favour.

Actor Shakti Kapoor made a pitch for BSP candidate from ward 23 Jannat Jahan asking the residents of the area to cast their vote in her favour. He promised the residents that if she is voted to power he would come back again to the area and bring along more stars. The public meeting was held at Ramdarbar.

Kapoor delivered dialogues of his famous characters in films drawing applause from the audience that had gathered in large numbers to see him. Kapoor also managed to narrate a few double meaning jokes during his speech. The people jostled with one another to catch a glimpse of Kapoor and get pictures clicked with him.

Shakti Kapoor said that though he is not from any party and that he is in the city to stand by and support good people.

He said that the election for councillor is one of the most important as people are able to elect a representative who would be accessible to them at anytime. Problems like lack of water supply,roads,beautification,schools and hospitals are taken care by these councillors, he added.

Earlier addressing the gathering,BSP convenor Haffiz Anwar-ul-Haq said that the people of Chandigarh want a change from Congress and BJP rule. He promised that once Jannat,who is his wife,is elected,he would open offices in all parts of the ward. He also assured that he would buy a house in the area and reside there two days a week.

BSP National General Secretary Nardendra Kashyap said that both the Congress and BJP have had a chance at making their government,but never solved the problems of the people.

He said that BSP would capture the Municipal Corporation this time. MP Avtar Singh Karimpuri said that the BSP has emerged as an alternate to both the BJP and Congress.
