  • But we’ll miss them. The Royals brought a wonderful flavour to the IPL, they tugged at the heart. They almost forced you to want them to win. Shane Warne said at the end that he’ll be back next year but that will be another ten months without a ball emerging from that astonishing combination of shoulder, fingers and mind. At the end of the game against the Knight Riders there was an excellent shot of him walking away, alone, towards the change rooms. I don’t know why but it just struck me that this might be the last time he would have walked away from a cricket ground. I thought I saw the titles roll.

great players to remember By: pal | 23-May-2009 Reply | Forward 1) WARNE, GILCRIST, HAYDEN , SYMONDS, ARE GREATS. OUR TEAMS HAVE TO LEARN FROM THEM
Cheesy as usualBy: Assad | 23-May-2009 Reply | Forward Harsha do us a favour and stop writing your cheesy articles. Nobobody except you stuck-up commentators gives a hoot about this IPL.. If you have have to write, at least write something worthwhile instead of the cheesy, mushy-mushy nonsesnse that you keep annoying everyone with..
RajasthanBy: someguy | 23-May-2009 Reply | Forward Mr Jay, these "mediocre" players managed to beat all the teams in the tournament barring Chennai. They won the cup last year losing just three games. So if these "desert rats" could do all this, what does that say about the other teams?
brilliantBy: someguy | 23-May-2009 Reply | Forward Amazing article. The only thing that made them achieve so much is Warne and the spirit of his team. It should make other teams think about their achievements. RR were handicapped this year. But come next year, hopefully they'll be back at full strength with warnie leading them to reclaim the trophy.
