A day after former Union minister Virbhadra Singh dismissed allegations that he had received money from a steel company, the BJP on Sunday asked him to quit active politics and "get absolved of the corruption charges" before seeking votes for the Congress Himachal Pradesh.
The salvo came from BJP national vice-president Shanta Kumar, who has for the first time in the last five year, targeted the former Himachal Pradesh chief minister.
"I never spoke against him on controversial audio CD - Virbhadra had to resign from the Union cabinet a court framed corruption charges against him based on the contents of the CD. But, now it is an issue of huge corruption against him. Since Virbhadra is an established leader, my advise to him as a friend is that he should quit politics, until he gets himself cleared of the corruption allegations," Shanta Kumar said.
