'Bihari Babu', Shatrughan Sinha is all set to play the role of late Telgu leader N T Rama Rao in Ram Gopal Varma's latest flick 'Rakha Charitra'.

"I have accepted the proposal of leading filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma for his latest movie," Sinha said.

'Rakta Charitra' will be made in three languages -- Hindi, Tamil and Telugu -- and Shotgun would take up the role of NTR in the movie's Hindi version.

Sinha said the film is similar to the 'Mahabharata' in tone and spirit.

Preparations are underway for the movie and shooting is expected to start very soon, Sinha, who is BJP's Lok Sabha MP from Patna Saheb in Bihar, said.

Sinha said his part in the film would be to play role similar to NTR, himself a great actor in Telugu films. "It is a big challenge and I would try to perform efficiently," Shotgun said.

NTR, the popular actor-turned politician who formed the Telugu Desam Party, won the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections with a landslide victory and became the chief minister for a long time.

Sinha, one of the top star of Hindi movies in the 70s and 80s, joined BJP around two-and-a-half decades back. He said despite his hectic political schedule, his love for films remained intact. "I manage to take time out of political engagements to do select films on the demand of my fans."

Sinha has recently completed a movie 'Aaj Bhi Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai' with Rekha, which will soon hit the theatres.
