  • Earlier on Friday, while the oil strike was still on, the Delhi government had decided to enforce the National Security Act through the Delhi Police to bring the situation back to normal.

Following an emergency Cabinet to review the supply of essential commodities and petrol, kerosene and diesel, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said she had instructed Delhi Police to allow vehicles waiting at the inter-state border loaded with oil and other petroleum products into Delhi.

Food and Supplies Minister Haroon Yusuf had said that there was no shortage of LPG or foodgrains despite the strike and the supply of essential commodities like vegetables, milk and food articles was not affected.

As per the Cabinet briefing, throughout the crisis, the supply of limited diesel and petrol from 94 outlets of HPCL was on, out of a total of 400 outlets.
