The state government appointed a PCS official, Shahid Manzar Rizvi, as the administrator of Shia Central Board of Waqfs (SCBW) on Friday. This ended the tenure of Waseem Rizvi, who was officiating as chairman after he had submitted his resignation two months ago. With this, the state government finally conceded to the demands by Shia cleric Kalbe Jawwad, who had demanded ouster of Waseem Rizvi. Considered close to Minister for Minority Welfare and Waqf Azam Khan, the outgoing chairman, Waseem Rizvi has already been expelled from the Samajwadi Party
