    Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja was arrested on Monday on rape charges.

    Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja was arrested on the charge of allegedly raping his 18-year- old maid and remanded to police custody till June 18 after preliminary medical tests indicated she was sexually assaulted.

    "The tests have indicated that the victim was sexually assaulted, although the final report is still awaited," Additional Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta said.

    She had been taken to Nagpada police hospital in South Mumbai where medical tests were conducted.

    The 35-year-old actor allegedly raped his domestic help at his flat at suburban Oshiwara on Sunday when she was alone.

    Ahuja, who was arrested early this morning, was produced before a local court which, after hearing arguments of public prosecutor and defence lawyer, sent him in police custody till June 18.

    Ahuja's wife Anupama said he was innocent and she stands by him. "I love my husband. He is a wonderful father, a great partner and most importantly, he is an innocent man...I stand by him with all my soul, with all my heart, with all my love".

    She denied reports that Ahuja has ‘confessed’ to raping his maid. "It is a lie. It is utter rubbish.

    Clad in yellow T-shirt and blue jeans, the actor did not utter a word in the court and avoided eye contact with those present.

    What is the truth?By: Sanjana | 20-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward Anyone who has even a little common sense would not believe that Shiney is guilty. He is such a big actor, he is wealthy, and also really good looking so he doesn't need to rape his maid. I'm sure if he wanted he could just get any girl to sleep with him or pay money for it. There is no logic in why he would do this. And its' not like he is psycho either because people have said again and again that he is a very decent and responsible person. Also, he belongs to a very respected family and even his wife who has known him for the past 15 yrs is saying that he could never do this.

    Are you pure? part 2By: Desi | 18-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward Be careful about what you say and dont change your mind. You say hang him till death, put him behind bars for 10 years. If you follow the rule, more than half of the men in this world should be in jail. Dont be so quick to point out someone's mistakes so soon. Were you there, did you see it happen, did you get all the facts, do you personally know either shiney or the maid? Answer is No. Then why dont you give your brain some rest and wait for the results if it means so much to you. And in the mean time start a business hire some bounty hunters and begin putting the mens behind bars who have done the same... but wait you might not be able to do so, the bounty hunters might be in the same category:-)) Men, where is your brain?
