Shobha yatra hits traffic in Jalandhar

Life in the city was thrown out of gear on Thursday due to vehicular chaos arising from poor traffic management during the shobha yatra marking the eve of the 634th birthday of Guru Ravidass.

Thousands of people got stuck on city roads for hours together due to jams and there was hardly any way out for the public commuting on various roads,including Nakodar Chowk,Jyoti Chowk,old GT Road,Mai Hiran Gate,Patel Chowk etc.

“Neither the district civil administration nor the police administration do any thing to spare the public inconvenience during such yatras,” said a resident of Avtar Nagar. Police Commissioner Gaurav Yadav Could not be contacted for comments.
