Should India host Commonwealth Games?

Commonwealth Games should be conducted in India. It will encourage youngsters and will bring pride to the nation. It will also act as an excuse for the face-lift of the capital. It will benefit our trade and tourism industries also.

It must be hosted in the country,as it is a matter of pride. It will connect our nation with other countries. Indian tourism will also be benefited. Foreign currency will come in,which will help monetarily. We will have international exposure.

Commonwealth Games are a sheer wastage of money,talent and time for the country,where almost half the population is living below poverty line. The budget for infrastructure,which was about Rs18,000 crore earlier,has increased manifold. The money meant for downtrodden people is being drained to develop cosmetic infrastructure. In Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium,the PTFE(poly-tetra fluro ethylene) membrane roof developed worth crore of rupees has started leaking already. Instead of national pride,it might turn into international stock of laughter.
