Show of strength goes beyond the open house
Even as the open house ended,the show of strength by various parties continued in the open. While all parties including ABVP,SOI and INSO returned to their departments and hostels,SOPU and PUSU members along with their supporters reached the Students Centre.

Even as the open house ended,the show of strength by various parties continued in the open. While all parties including ABVP,SOI and INSO returned to their departments and hostels,SOPU and PUSU members along with their supporters reached the Students Centre.
On the bridge and around the fountain,SOPU members flocked,as their PUSU counterparts climbed the ramp of the Students Council Centre.
Hooting and sloganeering went on as a heavy deployment of police force,apprehensive of a clash,stood in anticipation.
It was on the insistence of DSW Prof Naval Kishore that the SOPU and PUSU members left the place. Interestingly,despite tall claims made by authorities,most of the supporters of almost every party were from outside the PU campus.

Amid the rising pulse,Independent Candidate Varun Malik and HSA president Narender Gujjar gheoraed the car of Professor Naval Kishore. They sought an explanation from the DSW on the alleged blatant violations of the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations by various parties. Even as the DSW assured to look into the matter and take action in accordance with law,the students were not ready to let him go. It was only on the intervention of security officials that the DSW was allowed to go.
