Agua de Rosas is inspired by a Sufí parable about a stream that is convinced that it is its destiny to cross the desert without losing its essence and identity. Rose water is a symbol of Sufism, and water is an important element of this performance by Sharmini Tharmaratnam. The performance will take place at The Attic on October 27. Contact: 23746050
Clowning Glory
What does a clown do when he is depressed? Nothing Like Lear, directed by Rajat Kapoor, focuses on a clown who has been crying for days, has lost the love of his life, and realises that he is getting old. A part of the Old World Theatre Festival 2012, the play will be staged on October 18 at India Habitat Centre.

Chess City
Chandigarh's love affair with architect Le Corbusier continues. An exhibition at Alliance Française takes one to La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland, Corbusier's birthplace. The cityscape of La Chaux-de-Fonds is characterised by a chessboard design that was created at the beginning of the 19th century after a catastrophic fire.
