Rhythm Divine

No concert of Bhakti music is complete without the songs of Mirabai. The story of the great poet-saint of the 16th century is being retold in a play directed by Shobha Deepak Singh. Titled Meera, the 90-minute-long play traces Mirabai's life as a passionate devotee of Krishna. The highlight of the play are Rajasthani music and dance pieces. Meera is being performed at Epicentre, Gurgaon, on December 11. Contact: 2715000

Royal Treatment

Camera persons were constantly at work during the three visits by the Spanish royal family to India in the last 40 years. An exhibition of photographs, titled "Visits of the Spanish Royal Family to India", helps history and celebrity buffs catch the royals as they went about their official engagements or turned tourists. The exhibition is being held at Instituto Cervantes, Hanuman Road, throughout this month.
