Bahujan Samaj Party on Thursday termed as “indicative of Congress’ cheap mentality and opportunistic politics” the allegations of corruption levelled against it by Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh.
“Before levelling any allegation (against BSP),Digvijay Singh should remember the scams during the regime of Congress government due to which the entire country, including Uttar Pradesh,is facing poverty,” a BSP spokesman said here.
He termed as “indicative of their (Congress’) cheap mentality and opportunistic politics” Singh’s allegation that the UP government was not doing enough in the murder case of CMO B P Singh.
The spokesman alleged that Congress leaders give false and baseless statements to malign the image of non-Congress governments, which are not taken seriously by the people.
“The Congress-led UPA government is deep into corruption and new scams are popping up everyday,” he claimed.
The spokesman alleged that sheltering corrupt people was a part of Congress’ culture and Singh floats new stories to gain publicity.
Earlier in the day,the Congress leader had accused the BSP regime in Uttar Pradesh of creating new records of corruption and alleged that nothing was done in the murder case of CMO B P Singh.
He said that Congress would file a PIL demanding a CBI inquiry into the case.
