Protectors turtned predatorsBy: S Jain | 18-Sep-2008Reply | ForwardMr R K Datta, how would you feel/react if your plot of land was snatched away from you in the name of "development" and you were paid only a pittance? Furthermore, imagine if that piece of land was your only source of sustenance, would you then bother about the State's development or your family's survival? Big fat businessmen and short-sighted, maybe even, corrupt politicians have come together to usurp/rob what is essentially someone elses' personal property and earn obscene rental income under the patently misleading and false pretext of "development". Mr Datta, unfortunately, the State has become a predator rather than a protector of its own weak and helpless citizens especially its farmers. This economic fascicism has to be strongly resisted. Otherwise tomorrow they will come and snatch your and my property for free.
Singur Ghost to haunt WB for some timeBy: R.K.Datta | 17-Sep-2008Reply | ForwardCivil Society in West Bengal will pay for tolerating Mamata Banerjee antics and now Congress following Mamata Banerjee foot steps. Pradesh Congress President Priya Das Munshi first make sure that he has 10 -15 leaders who have some credibility among people. Following TMC or joining with TMC will ultimately ruin Congress in West Bengal. It is a shame.Sonia Gandhi must not make the same mistake which Prakash Karat made.
