A class 10 student in Haryana's Hisar district was gangraped by three men who also made an obscene video, which was used by different men to blackmail and rape her over a period of two months.
The incident came to light when the brother of one of her alleged rapists also tried to rape her on Saturday, but she managed to escape and narrated the incident to her family, who, in turn, informed the police. The police got the victim medically examined and arrested six youths on charges of rape, preparing and circulating obscene video and criminal intimidation.
The girl, a resident of a village in Hisar district of Haryana, in her complaint with Barwala police said that about two months ago while returning from a field, three men — Pradeep (18), Ashok (22), Sombir (22) alias Golia — raped her at knife-point and made a video-clip on a mobile phone.
The 18-year-old victim alleged that the accused threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone. The video was circulated in the village through MMS, she said.
The victim alleged that after some days another man from the village, Kuldeep (23), stopped her and showed her the MMS. He also threatened and raped her. Later, after a few days, Kuldeep and one Mange Ram (38) came to her house when she was alone and both allegedly raped her. On Saturday, when the victim had gone out of her house to buy something, Rohtash (26), brother of Kuldeep, tried to take her forcibly towards a house, but she managed to escape and narrated the incident to her family.
Hisar SP Satheesh Balan said, "All six accused have been arrested on the charges of raping her and circulating the obscene MMS. The accused will be produced in court Monday." All accused, from the same village, are school dropouts.
