After Delhi won the toss and opted to bat first, Haryana were always on the back foot. Openers Lalita Kumari and Neha Tanwar gave their team a fine start as they were involved in a 51-run partnership for the first wicket before Latika Kumari departed after contributing 23 runs falling to Prerna Batra. Neha Tanwar too fell to the bowling of Batra after making 38 runs with Delhi scorecard reading 89 for 2 in 23.5 overs.
Skipper Reema then joined Deepti Dhyani as they carried the total to 109 before Dhyani was run out by Batra at an individual score of 18 runs. Reema and Shilpa Gupta were then associated in a 61-run stand for the fourth wicket before Shilpa was trapped lbw by Tanwar at an individual score of 26 runs. Reema then helped Delhi getting past the 200-run mark as Delhi posted a healthy total of 226 for 6 in the allotted 50 overs. For Haryana, Orerna Batra picked up two wickets giving away 40 runs while Mehak Kesar, Nirupama Tanwar and Shashi claimed one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 227 runs, Haryana were off to a disastrous start as they lost their opener Neeru off the very next ball of their innings. Sunil gill and Pooja Sharma were then associated in a 69-run stand for the second wicket before Sunil Gill departed after making 26 off 43 balls. Pooja Sharma and Pushpa then took the score to 114 before Reema Malhotra claimed the wicket of Pooja Sharma in the 30th over with the scorecard reading 114 for 3. Latika then picked up the wicket of Nirupama Tanwar in the 33rd over before Litika claimed her second wicket in the form of Lipsa Syal in the 35th over. Pushpa departed in the next over after contributing 40 runs before Haryana ended their innings at 164 for 9 in 50 overs. For Delhi, Shashi Malik and Lalita sharma claimed two wickets each while skipper Reema Malhotra, Shilpa Gupta and Shilpi Bhatnagar claimed one wicket each.
