  • Jharkhand Special Branch Inspector Francis Induwar, who was beheaded by Maoists on Tuesday, had not been paid his salary for the last six months because his seniors had not cleared his last pay certificate after he was promoted and posted out in March this year.

Induwar moved to the Special Branch from Bokaro after his promotion but couldn’t get the last pay certificate, which he was told to produce for his salary at his new posting in Khunti. “As soon as I joined yesterday, I cleared his last pay certificate. I am looking into why it took so long,” Bokaro SP Saket Kumar told The Indian Express.
