Epitome of action
As Jabbar Patel exclaimed how a woman who captivated the nation characterising womanhood in the most immaculate and graceful way lived life recklessly 'like a tomboy' till the age of fifteen, she heartily laughed admitting her inability to answer the fact. Besides this contradiction there is much including sheer simplicity and beauty that Sulochana didi exemplifies. She was honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at the Pune International Film Festival(PIFF). The actress revived her days onscreen referring to many directors whom she acknowledged for their guidance and inspiration, including Bhalji Pendharkar, Anant Mane and Raja Thakur. "When I moved to Pune from Kolhapur, I had to read Sanskrit diction in order to inculcate the Marathi accent in this city. Then, there was a time when my films were screened across seven theatres in this city. Receiving this honor in the same city makes me extremely happy," said the actress. Sulochana didi also praised the contemporary Marathi artists and cinema for dealing with various subjects. "On many occasions there was no financial backing but the production never stopped. From technicians to the artists all continued to work, this is dedication. I feel this profession is like any other profession, infact much better and I would definitely like to work further," added the actress.
