  • In the groove
Puneites can get in the groove, literally, on July 12 and 16, as Groove Love plays in town on these two days. Featuring Bhrigu Sahni on guitar, currently studying in the Berklee School of Music in Boston, USA; Varun Venkit from Agnee on drums, and Rushad Mistry on bass, who recently got back from a two-year stint with rock outfit QED in Canada, the band will see the coming together of the trio, playing funk, blues and everything that falls in between. While on July 12, they’ll perform at North Main, Koregaon Park, 9.30 pm onwards, on July 16, 8.30 pm onwards, Groove Love will be playing at Shisha Café.

    Pairing up
The first wedding on Indian television has come up under the novel concept of Jodi Jamli Re. The show has been successful in tying the first knot between Gaurav Joshi (winner of the fifth schedule) and Meenal Kulkarni (winner of the sixth schedule). The two met on the set of the 50th episode celebrations and that’s where the spark was ignited. Speaking about their first meeting, Meenal said, “As Gaurav and I happen to be Puneites, initially there was a city bonding and after our first date, we decided to spend the rest of our lives together.” Sharing his experience on screen, Joshi adds,
“Initially, we felt a little uncomfortable, as it was our first experience on screen but it has changed our lives. I had never expected that I’ll meet my soulmate on the show.” Their engagement is scheduled to take place on July 19 and the date for the wedding ceremony will be finalised in December this year.
