Mark of respect
Kanan Daras Karo’ an attempt to define Pt Bhimsen Joshi’s persona and his music through the bandishes composed by his disciple and son Shrinivas Joshi, has been organised on November 10 at S M Joshi hall. The bandishes from Kanana Daras Karo reflect musical thoughts and expressions of eminent personalities like Ustad Vilayat Khan, Vijay Tendulkar, Mangesh Padgaonkar and Ramubhaiyya Date. This is a thematic classical vocal concert of which Shrinivas Joshi is the creater, lyricists, composer, presenter and compere. Indian Magic Eye is the producer of the concert. The progamme is free for all music lovers. Meanwhile, Saregama India Ltd has come up with- The Complete Works - Pt Bhimsen Joshi, a set of 14 CDs. This pack holds his entire works comprising of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi's early, rare and unique recordings in Hindustani Classical music as well as Marathi, Hindi and Kannada music that have made him the most popular vocalist over the last six decades.
