Heart to heart
After returning from the UK, where they underwent a comprehensive leadership programme at Asha Center, Gloucestershire, the Lila fellows, were here to shar5e their experience with the rest. Addressing a press conference, the Lila fellows, who are also called Peace Ambassadors spoke about the three-week intensive training programme including diverse skills like Alexander technique presentation strategies, Lucca leadership and voice modulation. Manjusha Gupte trusty and one of the peace ambassador, says, “The visit not only gave us an aopportunity to interact and understand diverse culture but also the joy of giving and sharing. We would like to give back to society and contribute their mite in making a difference.” Among the projects they will be undertaking in the forthcoming year will be working with old-age homes, destitute children, running women’s savings groups, and helping abused women.

Award night
Yet again, encouraging the arts and setting a platform to showcase the best in theatre in India, Mahindra and Mahindra group today announced the 5th META (Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards) to be held on March 7 next year. The call for entries inviting the best of theatre from all over the country has begun and will close on January 10, 2010. Any theatre group that has staged a production in the calendar year 2009, in any language and any part of India, is eligible to qualify.
