    Rock the right way
Never ever a campaign rocked as this one, that not only promises fun, but also sends a message across to youngsters in their own language – rock music. The band TOT (Tough on tobacco) — a talent packed and wildly funny band started with an anti- tobacco message – ‘Don’t Start Smoking’ bring a mélange of pop, rock and reggae for their listeners. A jam night is being organised at the Hard Rock Café on November 12. The band includes Helga’s Fun Castle’s Johan Pais on bass and Jai Row Kavi on drums, Zero’s last guitar line-up of Pozy Dhar and Gaurav Gupta, the multi-talented Neil Gomes on violin, cello, guitar, keyboards, harmonica, percussion, trumpet and sax and is fronted by Sidd Coutto on vocals, guitars, keyboards, percussion, drums and computers.

    Grand and grandeur
While the heavy rains did bring life in the city to a halt, it was not able to dampen the spirits of those gathered at Krishna Sunder Gardens, to celebrate the launch of AMIT-PDPL-T20-2009, first taluka level T-20 cricket on the lines of IPL to be held in Pune from November 13 to 20. Chief guest, actor Suniel Shetty vowed the audience with his humility and his humour and unveiled the classy crystal trophy alongwith Kishor Pate (Wani) of Amit, which will be awarded to the winning team. The audience also got to see a sneak preview of his forthcoming film ‘De Dana Dan’. The six participating teams Parwati Peshwas, Pimpri Panthers, Chakan Royals, Camp Warriors, Baramati Powers and Ambegaon Tigers, joined the guests on stage with their owners, captains and coaches, to be felicitated by Ashish Desai, secretary, PDPL. An added delight was Avdhoot Gupte’s performance of some foot-tapping Hindi and Marathi film songs, specially the kandhe pohe number and some dhol-tasha along with fire dance.
