With dental implants, modern medical science gives you another reason to smile
With increasing life expectancy in India, old age no longer means being tucked into bed all day with failing eye sight, hearing and false teeth set out on the nightstand. The twilight years have now become the time to have all the fun, you missed out on during those office years. And the advancement of science and technology has certainly made this possible now.
One of the most conspicuous affects of old age is losing ones teeth. Fortunately, it is no longer an affect that needs to make you hide under the covers. Dental science has made huge leaps in implant and aesthetic dental solutions.
Dattatray Barve, 70, from Pune, who lost all his teeth due to periodontal disease thirty years back, opted for removable dentures as there was no other alternative available during those years. He has used six different dentures during these years giving him multiple problems like slipping of dentures causing embarrassment, restrictions to eat comfortably, feel and look older. Recently he underwent the dental implant surgery for all his missing teeth with prosthesis placed on eleven implants. Dr Nitin Barve, general dentist, who has performed this surgery on his father, for the first time in Pune says, “This new set of fixed implants will be the third set of teeth in human life following primary and permanent dentition. Being a general dentist, I will emphasis on a point that a Nobel Biocare protocol for guided keyhole surgery is really comfortable for patients and assured for their further journey of life."
