Like the English, the Chinese cueists, Anda Zhang and Wang, were also off to a decent start with Zhang winning comprehensively and Wang suffering his first defeat in the Poona Club – Manisha Invitational Snooker Championship held at the Poona Club tables on Saturday.

Pune is definitely a good hunting ground for second seed Anda Zhang, as he followed up an Asian U-21 Title in April with two comprehensive wins in the ongoing tournament. The 17-year old World Junior Snooker championship runner-up, who started playing the sport at the age of 10 is excited about playing in the professional circuits in a year’s time. On the other hand, his less fancied Chinese compatriot, Wang, lost his first game 3-0 .
