Software experts to help govt deal with cyber crimes

To deal with the increasing instances of cyber crime,the Haryana government has decided to engage private information technology (IT) experts.

To deal with the increasing instances of cyber crime,the Haryana government has decided to engage private information technology (IT) experts. The state government has decided to constitute special teams possessing professional IT skills to promptly detect and investigate cyber crimes.

To start with,the government has decided to approach professionals at multinational software programming companies to assist the state police force in investigating net-related crimes.

Software companies located in Haryana’s Gurgaon city are high on this list.

“Investigation of cyber crimes including tampering,intrusion,hacking,morphing and phishing needs high software expertise. The help of major IT companies based in Gurgaon would be sought to strengthen the efforts of these special teams that shall be constituted in the coming days. These teams will be stationed at Gurgaon to provide such service to the entire state,” a state government’s official spokesperson said on Sunday.

The spokesperson added that the installation of closed circuit TV surveillance cameras (CCTVs) will play an important role in controlling criminal activities.
