Sonia has lost her mental balance: Modi

Referring to Sonia's claim earlier in the day that the 'Dial 108' emergency service was a project of the Centre, the CM said it was the state's initiative to take people in emergencies to hospital free of cost. "Madam Sonia spread a lie... Have you got so scared of losing elections? Have you got so depressed? Behn Soniaben, I bet you have lost your mental balance."

The CM also raked up the issue of fake encounters. "Rahul baba, if your family members have gone to jail in the freedom struggle, we appreciate it. But you cannot kill democracy with your family politics. Soniaji has used the CBI to put innocent people of Gujarat in jails."

Responding to Rahul's allegation that he appropriated credit for everything, Modi said: "I am the only person who says my Gujarat is shining due to six crore Gujaratis. But how individualistic are you! Five thousand schemes have been named only after your father, your grandmother and your great grandfather. You are parivarvadi, you are individualistic and have crippled democracy... Rahul baba zaban sambhal ke bolna."

Claiming that the Congress struggled to make a mark because it didn't understand development politics, he cheered on the crowds: "Nahi denge, nahi denge, bemaniyo ko Gujarat nahi denge."

Bringing up Amitabh Bachchan, the CM added: "The Bollywood star was a close friend of Rajiv Gandhi but the Congress did not know even how to use him. We have shown them by making him our tourism ambassador."

Earlier Sonia broke into Gujarati while ending her address at Kalol, urging voters to back the Congress. Criticising raking up of the disputed Sir Creek border for "selfish political gains", she said: "We will not let anyone play with the unity and integrity of the nation."
