Asking Hindus to take a "tough stand" against "Islamic terrorism", Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Thursday attacked Congress president Sonia Gandhi for trying to delink religion and terrorism saying it was a "sign of hypocrisy".

"Islamic terrorism is creating havoc in Maharashtra and India and Hindus should come forward and take a tough stand," Thackeray was quoted in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana', of which he is the Editor

He alleged that Congress and Samajwadi Party were "enemies of the country" as they were "showing sympathy" to the suspects arrested in the recent serial blasts.

Thackeray said Sonia's appeal to delink terrorism from community or religion at a public rally at Nanded on October 7 was a "joke".

"On one hand, you make efforts to save terrorist Afzal Guru from the gallows, shower Muslims with concessions and on the other, speak about tackling terrorism," he said.

"This hypocrisy is taking the country towards destruction," the 81-year-old Sena chief said.

Meanwhile, in an editorial in the newspaper, Thackeray said "no one will dare heap injustice on Marathi people and Hindus as long as the Sena is there".

Thackeray also criticised Samajwadi Party leaders Mulayam Singh and Amar Singh for "rushing to defend Muslim terrorists".

You may be a fool but I ain'tBy: Name-ism | 22-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward this coming from a leader of a party that accepts they monitored railway candidates for exams. um, forgive me if I'm confused enough but what do you call that? organized resistance? armed militia? what exactly would you call a 'sena' or a dal similar on the idealogues of karnataka
who r the terrorists?By: milano | 10-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward the Bajrang Dal leadership admits that murderous rampaging mobs that attacked Christians in a wave of terror attacks were its members, all naturally Hindu. Thousands of terrorists, all Hindu. Also in contrast, the Gujarat CM admits that murderous rampaging mobs that attacked Muslims in a wave of terror attacks were “the people of Gujarat” to whom he had given (abdicated, actually) “the right to do justice” (read the power to murder, rape, burn, loot), all of them targeting Muslims therefore in that situation naturally Hindu. Thousands of terrorists, all Hindu

Thousands of terrorists, all Hindu.Take Delhi, 1984. Or any other, any time. Hindu, every time, and in the thousands at that.So which community has most terrorists? Shall non-Hindus sit back smugly and pronounce condescendingly “all Hindus are not terrorists, but most terrorists are Hindus”?Shall non-Hindus sit back smugly and pronounce condescendingly “since most terrorists are Hindus, there must be something seriously wrong with Hinduism.
Divided we failBy: Mark | 09-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward This fighting is useless. We are divinding ourselves. Muslims should stop talking about past riots (lot more hindus were killed and women raped and hindus looted during islamic incursions and Hindus should stop talking about injustice mated to them.(The well off hindus have a lot better life and the people on the local rung of the ladder are facing hard life. Temples collect in crores but are not willing to use that money to upliftment of the weaker section of the society)So you see both communities have lot of flaws. We should not get divided. People should read books on Ghengis Khan written by Conn Iggulden. it is a story of a boy who aspired to defeat the Chinese empire who always kept dividing mongolian tribes. It is a very good read. indians should learn from it
RiotsBy: Javed | 09-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Today a group of anti social elements in our religon are indulging in henious acts of terrorism. It acceptable. Atleast Muslims accept it. How many Hindus have condemned the Ahmedabad Riots of 1972, 3000 Muslim killed in Islam, the porgrom of Gujarat in 2002, the Pogrom against sikhs in 1984, The Mumbai riots, The bhagalpur, Malyana
