  • In an effort to decongest the approach road to Bandra Terminus, Western Railway (WR) is planning to construct a flyover from Bandra station (suburban) to the new building of Bandra Terminus. Railway sources said,”We have decided to construct a flyover above the existing road between Bandra suburban station(east) and New Bandra Terminus so that cabs and other heavy vehicles can reach Bandra terminus’ new building faster. These vehicles can go till the new building of Bandra Terminus and take ‘U’ turn to exit.”

Also, a few arrangements have been made for light vehicles like autorickshaws, bikes etc as they will not be allowed to ply on the flyover. They will run on the existing road. According to railway officials, light vehicles can go till old Bandra building and take ‘U’ turn to exit.

Shyam Sunder Gupta, chief public relations officer, WR, said, “Work on the project has already been started. This project will decongest the approach roads of both new and old Bandra Terminus buildings.”
