In a meeting held to review vigilance cases, Home Secretary-cum-Chief Vigilance Officer Ram Niwas, on Thursday, asked the representatives of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to immediately prepare a complaint tracking system so that the complaints sent to the Chief Vigilance Officer can be monitored online.
Also, the Engineering department has been asked to expedite the process of e-tendering in order to bring about transparency in allotment of tenders
Niwas directed the SP (Vigilance) and NIC officials to prepare a separate interactive website of the Vigilance department so that public complaints can be posted directly on the website.
For complaints, the Vigilance department has two numbers: 2740012 (round the clock) and 2743410 (office hours).
Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) G S Ghuman said as many as 16 vigilance inquiries are, at present, pending with the department and the inquiry reports would be finalised within 3 months.
