  • The Delhi Police gave a clean chit to a youth who emerged as a suspect in the Soumya Vishwanathan murder case after the broken mirror of his BMW was found at spot where the TV producer was killed.

Mudit Jain, son of businessman Dinesh Jain, came under scrutiny after investigators collected pieces of the rearview mirror of his BMW from the crime spot in Vasant Kunj. Investigations revealed Mudit travelled on the route at 8.30 pm on September 29, almost seven hours before Soumya’s body was found. He had gone to the DLF Emporio Mall on Nelson Mandela Marg.

DCP (South district) HGS Dhaliwal said mall CCTV footage showed the broken mirror and the timing of the footage corroborated Mudit’s statement.
