“Lyricists don’t enjoy the limelight too often,” says Vayu,as he begins to discuss his incidental entry into films. Vayu,certainly,looks set to defy this rule — he has made a splash by penning songs for Ram Gopal Varma’s (RGV) films like Rann ,Rakhta Charitra 1&2 ,and the recently released Not Just Another Love Story. In Bollywood,this alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication,Pune,has become a name to watch out for. Working on Not Just a Love Story was a challenge,he says. “RGV initially did not want any song. But music directors,Sandeep and Dharam,pitched my song titled Jab Se Main Choti Thi,which made the final cut in both sad and happy versions,” says Vayu. The songwriter is also working in RGV’s next venture,Department. “I am making promos,writing new stuff and even working on my single,” he says.
