Speak Asia: One more sent to EOW custody

The Esplanade Court remanded the sixth accused,arrested in the Speak Asia scam,to the Economic Offence Wing’s (EOW) custody till August 14. Rahul Shah,the Mumbai-based vice-president of Speak Asia’s back office company Tulsiyant Enterprises,was arrested by the EOW on Thursday for his alleged role in the scam.

Amidst commotion and confusion caused by hundreds of Speak Asia panelists who flocked to the court room today,the Magistrate accepted the prosecution’s contention that further investigation was needed in the case.

The Thane police,meanwhile,moved an application seeking the custody of those arrested earlier,including company chief operating officer Tarak Vimlendu Bajpai (36). However,the court turned down the application. “No need to shift the accused from Arthur Road jail to Thane. You can question them while they are in judicial custody,” it said.
