  • With Mumbai registering a high number of cases under the Information and Technology Act, the Mumbai Police, with the help of NASSCOM, is training public prosecutors on various aspects of cyber crime—the first batch completed the course on August 26.

The training programme, a joint venture of Cyber Lab of the city police and the NASSCOM, will educate public prosecutors on different types of cyber crimes, their detection and the implementation of the IT Act.

Nandkumar Saravade, an IPS officer and Director of Cyber Security and Compliance, NASSCOM, said: “The training will enable public prosecutors to understand investigation and detection of cyber crime. The syllabus for this course is a modified version of what was designed for investigating officers of the Mumbai Police. Basic knowledge of collection of digital evidence, tracing an IP address, types of cyber crimes, Information Technology Act, mobile forensic, trojans and worms is covered in the course.”
