Deccan Gymkhana to conduct annual aquatic gala
A state- level swimming and water polo competition will be conducted by Deccan Gymkhana as part of their annual aquatic gala. The gala will commence on November 30 and concluded on December 2 and will be conducted at Tilak Tank. The total prize fund for this event is pegged at Rs 150,000. In the swimming category events will be held for age groups, u-7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17. There will also be an open category along with the Masters (40-60 yrs) and the Masters (60+) category. The water polo competition will have only one category, Open. Six teams have already confirmed their participation in the water polo competition. International athletes from the state like Akshay Kunde, Arjun Kawle, Viraj Pardeshi and Kunal Vanakudre.
Chess initiative to be launched at Deccan Gymkhana
Deccan Gymkhana will launch an initiative to offer coaching for chess to children from December 15. This activity will be divided into three levels. A basic level where interested children will be taught the bare basics of the game of chess. An intermediate level in which children with prior experience in playing competitive chess can participate and the third will be the Advanced group for children who already possess a FIDE ELO rating and have played state or national tournaments. Coaching will be provided by Chandrashekhar Gokhale, a FIDE International Master.
India vs England T20 tickets to go on sale from December 1
Tickets for India's Twenty20 encounter with England at the Subrata Roy Sahara stadium on December 20 will go on sale from the first of December. Tickets will be available at PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Deccan Gymkhana, Subrata Roy Sahara stadium, CCD Aundh, CCD Fatimanagar, CCD Koregaon Park, CCD Chandni Chowk, CCD FC Road, CCD Viman Nagar, CCD Hinjewadi, CCD Nalstop, CCD City Pride (Satara Road) and CCD Pimpri.
