Spreading the Love

“Love is a beautiful feeling. It doesn’t discriminate. That’s what this show is about,” says Hrishant Goswami,host of upcoming reality show,Love Kiya Toh Darna Kya on Channel V. Some might remember him as one of the contestants from Season 4 of the reality show Bigg Boss,in which he was showered with attention from co-participant Veena Malik. Mention this to him and he shrugs,“The female attention was flattering. Veena and I are just friends. We’re still in touch. I was closer to Ashmit though.”

Having spent most of his childhood in Nigeria and the US,Goswami moved to India in 1998 and has been modelling ever since. He arrived on the modelling scene with a bang,winning the Gladrags Manhunt contest in 2004,and then doing a slew of ad campaigns,apart from walking the ramp for India’s top designers. The new show will have him helping young couples prove their love and face obstacles. “We live in a society where love is defined by caste and religion,but love isn’t discriminating. That’s what this show will promote,” says Goswami. The show will also have the participants confronting their families about their relationships. “It’s going to try and bridge the generation gap that exists today. Young people should be able to communicate with their parents about relationships,” says Goswami. And what about his own love story? “That can wait. I’d rather focus on my career. I want to get into the films,” comes the pat reply.
