After landing in the city from Pakistan, the brother and mother of alleged ISI agent, who was suspected of spying at the Indian Air Force camp in Jamnagar, appeared before the Ahmedabad Detection of Crime Branch in early hours of Sunday. The brother is also a suspect in the case who was allegedly in touch with the ISI agent in Pakistan.

The DCB officials had arrested Idris Mandat Pinjara (33), who was working as a private security guard at the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation's office, on October 23. Idris's brother Aslam and mother Bilkisbano had left for Pakistan 10 days ago.

The duo had arrived in the city on Saturday and appeared before the DCB officials. The DCB officials recorded their statements late in the night.

Aslam was on the police radar after Idris's arrest. The DCB officials said Aslam, who often used to go to Pakistan, is suspected to have carried information gathered from IAF Jamnagar to be delivered to alleged ISI commander Tahir there.

Police also claimed that Aslam was working as an electrician and met several ISI agents during his five-year stay in Pakistan. It was Aslam who introduced his brother Idris to Tahir, DCB officials said.

According to DCB officials, Idris is another prime agent hired by the ISI to gather information on defence forces in Gujarat and supply it to Pakistan. He is in touch with Tahir who had also hired prime suspect in the case, Sirajuddin Fakir, to collect information from Gujarat cantonments.

Inspector H A Rathod said, "Both mother and son are claiming that they went to Pakistan recently to meet Idris's sister. They also claimed that Idris first went to Pakistan on 15-day VISA and stayed there for five years because his sister wanted help. We are probing on their statements to ascertain whether they are true or not".
