Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday said the right-wing Sriram Sena blamed for the Mangalore pub assault incident is not a Sangh Pariwar outfit and asserted that stringent action will be taken against the culprits.

“Sriram Sena has nothing to do with (Sangh) Pariwar,I am telling you honestly”,Yeddyurappa told reporters.

Asked if the Government would ban Sriram Sena,he said banning the outfit is not a solution. One has to look into its activities. Mangalore pub assault is an “unpardonable crime”,he said.

“We will see whether we should ban or not. It will take its own time. We will discuss with police officers,” he said.

Asked why Sriram Sena chief Pramod Mutalik was not arrested, the Chief Minister said the police would take into custody all those involved in the assault. The government would take strong action against the culprits irrespective of their religious and political affiliations,he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said ‘obscene dance’ would not be allowed in night clubs — be it in Bangalore or anywhere else in the State.

“We have no objection if people engage in activities without being disrespectful to the civilised culture and ethos of the land. Otherwise,we will take strict action against them,” he said.
