An SRP jawan working at the Gujarat High Court died after he allegedly shot himself with his service rifle at the court premises on Saturday. The Sola police stated that the SRP jawan, Kanu Dabhi (32), had a spat with his seniors over leave sanction. Dabhi took the extreme step after he was denied leave. The jawan was working as a security personnel in the HC. K I Punet, Commandant SRP (Group XII), said: “He joined the group only eight to ten months ago. The most probable reason behind the suicide could be his transfer from Gondal to Ahmedabad. He had asked for a transfer from Group VIII to Group VII, but was transferred to Ahmedabad instead. There were certain domestic issues also, but we are yet to find out what the actual grievance was.” Dabhi was a native of Kheda and his body was sent to the Civil Hospital for postmortem. The police are further investigating the case.
