  • In view of the impending Lok Sabha polls, the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee has already charted out a list of activities for the party workers.

A state-level meeting of around 600 Lok Sabha seat observers, assistant observers as well as district presidents has been planned from December 4.

Back in September, the observers were given certain tasks — organising camps to promote memberships, a large well-attended rally in each constituency, strengthening representations of backward classes. The deadline was set for November 15.

The fresh meeting will be a review session, where the observers will have to submit their reports, detailing the works they undertook. Each constituency in-charge has also been asked to submit a written report regarding the activities undertaken in their respective constituencies.

To ensure that adequate time is allocated for each constituency, the meeting has been divided in three sections. On December 4 and 5, around 42 Lok Sabha constituencies’ observers from central and eastern Uttar Pradesh has been called in the state Congress headquarters.

For the remaining 23 constituencies from western Uttar Pradesh, the meeting has been called on December 6 in New Delhi.

The meetings will be presided over by Digvijay Singh, state in-charge and national secretary, along with Rita Bahuguna Joshi, president of the state Congress.

“The message has been conveyed to all the district heads, Lok Sabha constituency observers and assistant observers,” said party spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh.

“The aim of the meet is to boost the preparations for the Lok Sabha polls,” Singh added.
