Pramod Tiwari asks Modi to resign
Blaming the BJP, and especially Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, for the terror attack in Mumbai, senior Congress leader Promod Tiwari on Monday asked Modi to resign, rather than demand resignations of Congress leaders. Tiwari said that unlike the BJP-supported governments in the past, which gave a safe passage to terrorists, the Congress-led government had ensured that terrorists get bullets for bullets. Saying that it has been proven that terrorists came to Mumbai from Gujarat, he said that it is shameful that Modi had not accepted the negligence of his government.
Tiwari said the courage shown by Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad Chief Hemant Karkare had left the BJP red-faced. “They should now apologise to the nation for levelling allegations against Karkare and saying that he worked under the influence of the Centre,” he said.
He also criticised Raj Thackeray and his men for their silence and inaction during the terror attack. “He should come out of his den and find out the birthplace of all those who sacrificed their lives to save the citizens in Mumbai,” Tiwari added.
